My Story

Hi.  I'm Caroline, I also use the tag PAX to sign my paintings (Origin of Pax Blog).

I am an art therapist, NDIS support worker, artist, teacher and mother of two.

I became interested in mental health by experiencing through loved ones.  Since then I have become very interested in the maintenance of mental health. On your healing journey it is important to experience life's challenges and learn what resources were gained by being witness.   Exploring different ways to access Transpersonal and Non-Transpersonal Resources when needed is also important. Mental Health maintenance is not unlike exercising your physical body. It is through regularly working with ways to stay mindful and grateful that you can  keep to a healthy mental state. TAT provides support beyond diagnosis. I have completed an Advanced Diploma in Transpersonal Art Therapy through the College of Complementary Medicine and work with people with mental health illness through the NDIS (National Disability Insurance Scheme).

Over the past 20 years I have also seen the benefit of Art as Therapy for students from the ages of 5 up to 85! through my private studio classes, through doing community art projects and teaching art, music and drama in schools.  Prior to becoming a teacher I worked as An Environmental Officer and National Park Ranger Interpretation Officer and have travelled Australia taking photos and selling them at markets and eventually my own Gallery.  I have always been passionate about the environment and believe nature is one of the greatest healing resources available to us.  I enjoy showing my NDIS clients how to be mindful in their environment through art, music or nature emersion.

I currently spend some of my time creating my own art and most of my time helping others discover the joys of art through exploration and therapy. My life has become more complete by having the opportunity to see the benefits spilling over.

About Transpersonal Art Therapy

My Art Therapy is Transpersonal

What is Transpersonal Art Therapy?

Transpersonal Art Therapy enables people to explore their unconscious thinking, enhancing self-expression, through art creation processes and visualisation meditation to identify and support unconscious thoughts that we sometimes struggle to understand ourselves. This may help you to explore any issues that you have and develop your healing resources.

Transpersonal art therapy is uniquely placed to support and heal people who experience many of the commonly occurring mental health conditions, as well as those seeking new ways of framing their ‘normal’ questions. Unlike other therapies, TAT helps a person access their innate abilities -such as imagination, creativity, and play -and use a variety of states of consciousness, and realms of possibility to trigger and reinforce neuroplastic change. Through our willingness to embrace alternative views and realms, we help our clients discover new and different understandings and experiences of themselves and events, learn new ways of being in the world, and create a life in which they can thrive and be fulfilled.
